They say variety is the spice of life, and for grass it’s no exception. Mowing your lawn in the same pattern week after week can bore your little grass blades. Ok, so you really can’t bore grass, but mowing over the same patch every time can cause the soil to compact, and effect the quality of the cut. To avoid compaction start mowing at the other side of the yard, or on a diagonal this avoids creating a path, and ultimately reduces compaction. Switching the pattern will also stop the grass blades from lying down, making it much easier to mow.
