If you’re like me, and have a hundred terra-cotta pots outside waiting for the winter to end, make sure to store them properly. For smaller pots tuck them in side one another loosely, and then lay them down on a flat surface. Don’t store the pots standing upright, the fluctuation in humidity and temperatures can cause the clay to expand and contract which could causing cracking.
